Sith, "ON A BUDGET"

We are working on a 200 point platform to further push the "budget" aspect of things.

So for the first installment of "On a budget", Kaine and I have decided to cap it off at $25.00 on ebay (including shipping) to get you the squad.

We decided to have some fun with our money, yet try and keep the squad competitive. When looking at the Sith faction, it's hard to keep to this kind of a budget because most of the heavy hitters also carry a price tag big enough to almost break the budget! But never fear, where there is a will (and an assignment) we'll find a way.

The Sith faction has some great uniques that can be used as a big ol' pimp stick in most any squad, and Ulic Qel-Droma is no exception. With relatively high HP of 160 and a defense of 23, you can believe that Ulic can take some damage as he pounds your opponent with his +16 attack. Plus, a discerning buyer can pick him up with relative ease for about $13.00 shipped.

It only seemed logical that if we were going to use Ulic, we should at least try to make use of his CE, and add in some Mandalorians without spoiling the main theme, or budget, of the squad. So, we've opted to use 2 Mandalorian Warriors, and 2 Mandalorian Supercommandos ($5 shipped). the Warriors can ride shotgun with Ulic to the fray, providing him some bodyguard, and giving you more attacks as you move in close on your opponent. The Supercommandos are just beastly, and will provide excellent fire-power, and will work well combining fire.

Next, we rustled up some Sith Troopers, 5 to be exact, and a Sith trooper Commander, to give more firepower, activations, and the ability to combine fire, something we're a fan of (you'll see what we mean in future articles). The trooper commander makes the troopers more viable damage dealers, not that the 20 DMG they do isn't enough mind you, it's just that 30 is so much better. Doing this will help to make the Sith Troopers targets (and in doing so help take the heat off your other figs). These 6 figs will run you about $3.50 shipped from MANY ebay stores.

Finally, with 6 points to spare, we round out the squad with 2 Ugnaught Demolitionists (one of our favorites to fill 3-6 point holes). These guys are versatile door-blowing, door-opening, speed bumps, not to mention that they make great walls to force your opponent to waste non-Accurate Shots on to get at the figs that matter. These will give you a total of 13 activations. These two guys will run you $2.70 shipped from any eBay store.

Like we explained, the whole Idea of the squad is to use Ulic and the Warriors as an up close and personal assault force while you lay down the long range fire with the shooters, and all for $25.00 or less! While this squad may not be an answer to the likes of Black and Blue, or republic Superstealth, it's a sprawling squad that when played effectively will keep your opponent thinking.
